FISCHEL, HARRY

(1865-1948)

   American philan-thropist. He was born in Russia and emigrated to the US in 1885. He settled in New York, where he was active as a businessman in the construction and real estate industry. He was associated with a number of Jewish institutions, and endowed the Harry Fischel Foundation for Research in Talmud in Palestine.
