CALADRIUS

найдено в "Dictionary of Medieval Terms and Phrases"

A wholly white bird with the magical power of drawing illness out of a sick person; however, if one of these birds looked away from an invalid, that was a sure sign that death would soon follow. Having 'drawn out' the illness the caladrius flew towards the sun and the illness was burned out, though the bird itself did not catch fire. Its droppings were said to be a cure for blindness.
