Bull,

früher Honeywell Bull, europäische Informationstechnologiegruppe mit Hauptsitz in Louveciennes (bei Paris), die Produkte und Dienstleistungen zur IT-Infrastruktur von Unternehmen anbietet, u. a. die komplette Umstellung von Unternehmen auf andere Plattformen. Bull arbeitet dazu eng mit führenden Hardware-und Software-Herstellern zusammen, etwa mit IBM, NEC, Intel, Oracle, Microsoft und SAP.

Der Umsatz beträgt 3,8 Milliarden Euro (1999), Bull hat ca. 18 000 Mitarbeiter. Die PC-Tochter Zenith Data Systems wurde 1996 an Packard Bell verkauft. Das ehemals staatliche Unternehmen ist seit 1997 privatisiert (Großaktionäre sind mit je 17,4 % der französische Staat, France Télécom, NEC und Motorola).

1) John, englischer Komponist, * Old Radnor (Wales) um 1562, ✝ Antwerpen 12. oder 13. 3. 1628; 1591 Organist der Chapel Royal in London, 1613 Kathedralorganist in Brüssel, 1617 in Antwerpen; einer der Hauptmeister der englischen Virginalisten, schrieb 145 Virginalstücke (45 im »Fitzwilliam Virginal Book«), Anthems und Lamentationen.
