BALAZS, BELA (BAUER HERBERT)

(1884-1949)

   Hungarian writer. His first collection of poetry appeared in 1910. Later he emigrated to Vienna where he continued to write poetry and became interested in film. Subsequently he moved to Berlin and directed films and wrote film scenarios. In 1931 he moved to Moscow where he taught at the Academy of Cinematography. He returned to Hungary in 1945 and was Professor at the Budapest Academy of Theatrical and Cinematographic Arts.
