DUSHKIN, ALEXANDER

(1890-1976)
   American educator. He was born in Poland and was taken to the US in 1901. He was director of Chicago's Board of Jewish Education (1923-34) and executive director of the Jewish Education Committee in New York (1939-49). From 1962 he headed the Department of Jewish Education in the Diaspora at the Hebrew University Institute of Contemporary Jewry. He published numerous studies of Jewish education.
