Ebro, ein bedeutender Fluß Spaniens, entspringt im Reynosathale, wird bald schiffbar und theilt sein Wasser dem Kaiserkanale mit, strömt bei Saragossa und Tortosa vorüber und fällt nach einem Laufe von 78 Meilen bei Amposta in's mittelländische Meer. Er ist fischreich, die Vegetation an seinen Ufern üppig, einzelne Landschaften sind sehr romantisch. Seine vielen Nebenflüsse waren von den Arabern größtentheils zu Kanälen gebildet worden, doch sind diese Werke unter den Spaniern in Trümmer gesunken.
