   The Florida-born scene designer studied in Paris and Germany. His New York career spanned four decades, beginning with the settings for Paris by Night (1904) until his retirement in 1938. Among his many shows were Rachel Crothers's first produced play, The Three of Us (1906), various Shubert musicals of the 1910s and 1920s like Robinson Crusoe, Jr. (1916), and others. His studio was located at 140 West 38th Street in New York City.
