CONCORD GROUP

The term applied to a loosely associated number of writers and other intellectuals who at one time or another lived at Concord, Mass., during the period familiarly known as "the flowering of New England". Among them were Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, William Ellery Channing, Amos Bronson Alcott, and Nathaniel Hawthorne.
