   although he made his screen debut as an extra in 1935's Madre querida, Fernando Almada did not appear in another film until the early '60s. After dropping his plans for an engineering career, Almada attended the ANDA acting school. Briefly flirted with being a ranchera singer, but made his mark in Westerns in the late '60s, then became a major action star - alongside his brother Mario - in the '80s. Has also directed at least one film, El hechizo del pantano ('75).
