   Palestinian topographer. Born in Provence, he lived in various cities in Spain, and later settled in Palestine. His Kaphtor va-Pherah presents the results of his travels throughout Palestine: it estab-lishes the names of Palestinian towns and villages, describes the geography and natural history of the country, and identifies ancient sites.
