ACID HYDROLASES

Hydrolytic enzymes that have a low pH optimum. The name usually refers to the phosphatases, glycosidases, nucleases and lipases found in the lysosome. They are secreted during phagocytosis, but are considered to operate as intracellular digestive enzymes.
