BAER, SELIGMANN

(1825-1897)

   German masorah scholar and linguist. He taught in the Jewish community school in Biebrich. Together with Franz Delitzsch he published the Psalms and other books of the Bible with masorah texts. His Avodat Yisrael (Service of Israel) became the standard prayerbook text for most subsequent editions of the siddur.
