   Polish educationalist and communal leader. He was born in Lublin. He devoted his life to teaching and took an active part in the Council of the Four Lands. His Bet Yisrael is a commentary on Jacob ben Asher's Turim. In Sepher Meirat Enayim, he amended and interpreted part of the text of the Shulh an Arukh. He also wrote responsa as well as commentaries on the Pentateuch and Talmud.
