AMIS, SUZY

   Suzy Amis is most remembered for her role as Little Jo Monaghan in Maggie Greenwald’s The Ballad of Little Jo (1993) —a character who passes for a male rancher, undetected except by an Asian ranch hand who becomes her lover. Only at little Jo’s death does the community discover that she was really a woman. In The Ballad of Little Jo, the fashion model Amis proved to be a superior actress. Her one other Western is The Last Stand at Saber River (1997) opposite Tom Selleck.
