CAHAN (COHEN), YAAKOV

(1881-1961)

   Hebrew author of Russian origin. He taught at the Institute for Jewish Studies in Warsaw from 1927 to 1933. The following year he settled in Palestine. He wrote lyrics, ballads, epic poems, folk stories and novels. Many of his poems and ballads were influenced by Jewish folklore.
