ALROY, DAVID (BEN SOLOMON, MENAHEM)

   Leader of a messianic movement in Kurdistan. He was proclaimed Messiah among the Jews living in the mountains of the north-east Caucasus. He was subsequently murdered. He is the subject of The Wondrous Tale of David Alroy by Benjamin Disraeli.
