Cassin, Rene: translation

(1887-1976)
   French statesman. He was born in Bayonne. He was professor of law at the universities of Lille and Paris, and French delegate to the League of Nations from 1924 to 1938. He served as National Commissioner for Justice and Education under De Gaulle (1941-3) and head of the French delegate to the UN General Assembly (1946-51). He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1968. He also served as president of the Alliance Israelite Universelle.
