   Preeminent composer of keyboard music in France. He began his music career as an organist at St. Gervais (1685–death), then at Chapelle Royale (1693). He published 42 Pièces d’orgue (1690) contained in two organ masses that are recognized as among the greatest examples of the genre. He also composed some 40 motets. (at)
