ENDOGLYCOSIDASE
endoglycosidase: translation
Enzyme of the subclass EC 3.2 that has the ability to hydrolyze non-terminal glycosidic bonds in oligosaccharides or polysaccharides. Endoglycosidases F and H are often used as tools to determine the role of carbohydrate moiety on glycoproteins. Endo-F, the product of Flavobacterium meningosepticum, cleaves glycans of high mannose and complex type at the link to asparagine in the protein; Endo H is from Streptomyces spp. and is an endo- b-N-acetyl-glucosaminidase.
