['sɑːkɪ], eigentlich Hector Hugh Munro ['mʌnrəʊ], englischer Schriftsteller, * Akyab (heute Sittwe, Birma) 18.12. 1870, ✝ (gefallen) Beaumont-Hamel (Département Somme, Frankreich) 14. 11. 1916; stellte in seinen witzig-satirischen Romanen (»The unbearable Bassington«, 1912; deutsch »Der unsägliche Bassington«) und pointierten Kurzgeschichten mit beißendem Spott Typen und gesellschaftlichen Spielregeln im edwardianischen England bloß.
