 2) Militärwesen: besonders in NATO-Stäben übliche Bezeichnung für Lagebesprechung, Lagevortrag.
 
 3) Werbung: zentrales Instrument der Werbeplanung.Das Briefing bildet die Informationsgrundlage, die einer Werbeagentur vom Kunden in Vorbereitung einer Werbekampagne zur Verfügung gestellt wird. Es enthält in der Regel Angaben über Markt, Konkurrenz, Kundenfirma, Werbeobjekte (Produkte), Zielgruppe, Distributionsweg, Einsatzgebiet und Einsatzzeitraum der Werbung sowie Kostenplan und Kontrollmaßnahmen.
