   With Charles Bordes (1863–1909) and Alexandre Guilmant (1837–1911), he founded the Schola Cantorum of Paris (1894). Originally specializing in the study of plain-chant and the Palestrina style, the school became a general conservatory in 1900. He harmonized 24 Gregorian chants, the {}Pentecosten (1919). (at)
