['iːtn], Schulstadt in der County Berkshire, England, am Nordufer der Themse gegenüber von New Windsor, 3 500 Einwohner. Eton ist bekannt durch das 1440 von Heinrich VI. gegründete Eton College, die berühmteste und größte Privatschule (Public School) Englands. Die um zwei Höfe angelegten Collegegebäude entstanden Ende des 15., Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts. Die im »Perpendicular Style« ausgeführte Kapelle wurde um 1480 erweitert und besitzt eine Reihe von Wandgemälden dieser Zeit.
