The first dynasty of the New Kingdom starting with Ahmose I, who drove out the Hyksos and reunified Egypt. Manethonames 14 or 16 kings of Thebes, but his names are not all identifiable with evidence from contemporary monuments, which yield detailed information on 14 rulers.
