Beulah f
Biblical: from the name applied to the land of Israel by the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 62: 4). It means ‘married’ in Hebrew, but ‘the land of Beulah’ has sometimes been taken as a reference to heaven. It was taken up as a given name in England at the time of the Reformation and was popular among the Puritans in the 17th century. It is still occasionally used in the United States, largely among Blacks.
