   Galician Hebrew writer. He settled in Palestine and published novels and short stories dealing with life in Galicia and Palestine. Regarded as the greatest epic writer of modern Hebrew literature, he was awarded the Nobel Prize. His writings include The Bridal Canopy and A Guest for the Night.
