BOGUCHWAŁ

Polish: vernacular name originating in the Middle Ages, composed of the elements Bóg God + chwała praise (cf. GOTTLOB (SEE Gottlob)). This is a specifically Christian formation, modelled on already existing names of pagan origin such as BOGUMIERZ (SEE Bogumierz).
