ANNA PAVLONA (PAULOWNA) ROMANOV

(1795–1865)

   Queen of the Netherlands. She was the daughter of Tsar Paul I (1796–1801) and sister of Tsar Alexander I (1801–1825). In 1816, she married William, the son of King William I, who succeeded his father as King William II in 1840. The Anna Paulownapolder in Northern Holland bears her name.
