Cacharel is a clothing company that was founded in Paris in 1968 by Jean Bosquet, who in 2002 still maintained an 80 percent interest in the company. Corinne Sarrut was the first designer, however, other well-known designers have designed for the collection, such as agnes b. and Azzedine Alâia. In 2001, the company signed the design duo Ignacio Ribiero and Suzanne Clements, of Clements Ribeiro, as creative directors for the company. The company spent several years restructuring and, in 2006, announced plans to open a concept store in the Saint-Germain shopping district in Paris. It has fine-tuned its Cacharel line to be more sophisticated and will introduce its new lower price Baby Jane line. Cacharel designs accessories, childrenswear, fragrance, home goods, and wo-menswear. The company has numerous licensed products, including intimate apparel and footwear. In the United States, Cacharel is carried at Barneys, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom department stores.
