BAN, NOBUTOMO

(1773-1846)

   A kokugaku scholar and disciple of Motoori, Norinaga's son and successor Motoori, Ohira. He is respected as a scrupulous philologist in the tradition of Norinaga. he wrote a number of historical works and made a special study of the Nihongi.
