Computus: translation
The science of calculation or computing, usually of the calendar for a Church festival, e.g. Easter. An early such work was produced at the Vivarium of Cassiodorus in 562. This was the first document of the medieval world to use the Dionysian mode of date reckoning we still use and which defined the Christian era.
