   An organization created in 1970 in recognition by the cotton industry and the U.S. Congress that cotton products and product development, together with consumer awareness, was essential for the future of the cotton industry. By 1973, the Seal of Cotton was introduced and, by 2003, this seal was a key recognized brand. In 1994, a research program, the Lifestyle Monitor, was introduced to record and analyze consumer attitudes in regard to fiber preference, fashion views, and related areas. It entered a relationship with Worth Global Style Network (WGSN) to include pertinent information in regard to cotton research and development. In 2005, Cotton Inc. opened its state-of-the-art headquarters and R&D facilities in Cary, North Carolina. Today, Cotton Inc. provides critical information to the fashion industry, as well as development and marketing support.
