(1914-92)
   German composer. He studied piano composition and conducting at the Hochschule fur Musik Berlin. Before the First World War, he was the organist at the Church of St Thomas, Leipzig and served as choirmaster and organist for the Liberal synagogue group in Berlin. In 1938 he left Germany and settled in Singapore. He subsequently emigrated to Australia. His compositions include: Test of Strength, Life of the Insects, Harvester's Song and Psalm 8.
