Johannes, byzantinischer Humanist, * Konstantinopel um 1415, ✝ Rom 26. 6. 1487; seit 1456 Lehrer an der Akademie in Florenz und für griechische Philosophie in Rom. Er übersetzte und kommentierte besonders Aristoteles und begründete die griechische Philologie in Italien.
