C&S US организация, зарегистрированная в качестве клирингового агентства в Комиссии по ценным бумагам и биржам США; предоставляет своим членам (участникам) услуги по проведению сверки, клиринга и расчетов по сделкам с ценными бумагам, но не осуществляет хранение активов от их имени. Клиринговые корпорации обычно имеют следующие системы: автоматическую систему сверки, систему неттинга, систему доставки почтовых отправлений.

Наиболее известными в США являются клиринговые корпорации, входящие в состав Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC): National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC), Fixed Income Clearing Corporation (FICC, образованная в конце 2002 г. в результате слияния Government Securities Clearing Corporation (GSCC) и Mortgage-Backed Securities Clearing Corporation (MBSCC))

Clearing Corporation: translation

An organization associated with an exchange to handle the confirmation, settlement and delivery of transactions, fulfilling the main obligation of ensuring transactions are made in a prompt and efficient manner. They are also referred to as "clearing firms" or "clearing houses".

In order to make certain that transactions run smoothly, clearing corporations become the buyer to every seller and the seller to every buyer. In other words, they take the offsetting position with a client in every transaction.
