BARNETT, RICHARD DAVID

(1909-86)

   English orien-talist, son of Lionel David Barnett. He was born in London and became head of the Department of Western Asiatic Antiquities at the British Museum. From 1959 to 1961 he was president of the Jewish Historical Society of England. His publications include Assyrian Palace Reliefs and their Influence on the Sculptures of Babylonia and Persia and Illustrations of Old Testament History.
