   German rabbi and kabbalist. He served as rabbi at Ostrog, Posen and Frankfurt am Main, where he was known as a practical kabbalist. He resigned his post when it was alleged that his kabbalistic experiments were responsible for the destruction of the Frankfurt Ghetto by fire. He died at Constantinople on his way to Palestine. He was an opponent of the Shabbetaians.
