Egyptian Thnt. Material used for the production of amulets, inlays, jewelry, shabtis, votive offerings, vases, and bowls. It consists of a core of crushed quartz covered in a glaze composed of soda, lime, and silica, usually but not exclusively blue. The technique was in use from Predynastic Period to the Arabic Period.
