[Abkürzung für englisch European Exchange], erste und inzwischen weltweit größte transnationale Börsenplattform im Derivatemarkt für Handel und Clearing mit einheitlichem technischen Standard und harmonisiertem Regelwerk, entstanden 1998 durch Zusammenführung der beiden elektronischen Terminbörsen Eurex Deutschland (firmierte bis 1998 als Deutsche Terminbörse) und Eurex Zürich (vormals Swiss Options and Financial Futures Exchange [SOFFEX]), die jedoch beide weiterhin rechtlich selbstständig sind.An der von den Muttergesellschaften der beiden Terminbörsen (Deutsche Börse AG und Schweizer Börse) gegründeten Eurex AG sind die Kooperationspartner zu je 50 % beteiligt. Seit 1998 besteht eine Kooperation mit den französischen Terminbörsen MATIF S. A. und MONEP S. A., seit 1999 eine Allianz mit der Helsinki Exchanges Group Limited und dem Chicago Board of Trade.
