BASIC LEUCINE ZIPPER

Family of proteins having a basic region and a leucine zipper. The basic region is the DNA-binding domain and the leucine zipper is involved in protein-protein interactions to form homo- or heterodimers. Includes AP-1, ATF and CREB transcription factors.
