FARBSTEIN, DAVID TZEVI

   Swiss lawyer and Zionist. He was born in Warsaw and settled in Zurich in 1894. He served as a member of the Swiss parliament after World War I until 1939. He was the first president (from 1920) of the Keren ha-Yesod in Switzerland. When the State of Israel was founded, he suggested that its legislation be based on the model of the Swiss republic. He wrote studies of Judaism, Zionism and law.
