This was an organization founded in England in 1950 by eight major British wholesalers under the leadership of Leslie Carr-Jones. Its mission was to capitalize on the emerging notoriety of British fashion and to arrange promotional events such as the twice-yearly London Fashion Week. Originally named London Model House Group, the name was changed to the Fashion House Group of London in 1958. This group was quite influential in promoting the Chelsea look in the 1960s and British designers like Mary Quant and the model Twiggy.
