   beefy, moustachioed character actor (a carpa veteran), on-screen from the 1940s through the '60s, often as a police inspector or similar functionary. His nephews performed as the singing group Hermanos Castro, aka "Los Panchitos" (and Daniela Castro, daughter of one of these brothers, is currently a TV actress). Castro, Lupita and Castro, Mercedes attractive brunette sisters who appeared together and singly in some '80s films like La cárcel de Laredo, La contrabandista, and Maldita miseria. Also singers. Mercedes was married at one time to singer Cornelio Reyna. Lupita, born in Culiacán, Sinaloa, made her professional debut in 1974 (Mercedes was a little earlier).
