Channels through which water passes from the gills and which open at the dorso-external (in the Brachyrhyncha) or at the middle (in the Oxyrhyncha) of the endostome margin. (Syn. efferent branchial channels) [Ingle, 1980].
(Order Decapoda):
Opening through which water exits from branchial chamber under carapace. Typically applied to more restricted opening in crab-like (brachyuran) decapod; located anteriorly on each side of endostome. (Syn. efferent branchial channel) [Stachowitsch, 1992].
