   First mention: Horwood, 1799.

   It was formerly called "Beech Lane " (q.v.), although the form "Bechestrete" occurs in 1285 (Ct. H.W. I. 74).

   "Dizzle's Court" (q.v.) occupied the site in the 18th century.
