1) Sir (seit 1990) Kingsley, englischer Schriftsteller, * London 16. 4. 1922, ✝ ebenda 22. 10. 1995, Vater von 2); zunächst Dozent für englische Literatur in Swansea, dann in Cambridge; seit 1963 freier Schriftsteller; gehörte zur Gruppe der »Angry young men«. In seinen Romanen durchleuchtete er kritisch-humorvoll die Skurrilitäten, die Heuchelei und die hohlen Wertvorstellungen in verschiedenen Bereichen der englischen Gesellschaft. Mit seiner antiromantischen Lyrik gehörte Amis zu den Repräsentanten des Movement.
