Enrico, italienischer Sänger (Tenor), * Neapel 27. 2. 1873, ✝ ebenda 2. 8. 1921; debütierte 1894 und wirkte in Neapel, Mailand, dann London und seit 1904 in den USA. Er galt als bester Operntenor seiner Zeit und vereinigte eine technisch vollendet beherrschte Stimme mit Natürlichkeit des Vortrags und starkem schauspielerischen Talent. Caruso war auch ein begabter Zeichner (Karikaturist); er schrieb »How to sing« (1913; deutsch »Wie man singen soll«).
