ANSPACH, BOULEVARD/ANSPACHLAAN

   One of the central boulevards built following the vaulting of the Senne River, the boulevard Anspach is one of the city's most well-known thoroughfares. It is one of the connecting streets linking the Gare du Nord with the Gare du Midi. A traditional locale for department stores and cinemas, high-rises line the broad boulevard today. It was named on 21 May 1879 in honor of Burgomaster Jules Anspach.
