   Israeli painter of Austrian origin. Born in Vienna, he studied at the Melbourne Academy of Art and travelled extensively. In 1950 he settled in Israel and lived in Safed. His earlier works depict the life of early Israeli pioneers. After 1957 his paintings were concerned with the Holocaust.
