ARAMA, ISAAC BEN MOSES (ISAAC ARAMA)

(1420-94)

   Spanish rabbi, philosopher and preacher. As rabbi of various Spanish communities, he delivered sermons on the principles of Judaism. He also engaged in public disputations with Christian scholars. After the Jews were expelled from Spain 1492, he settled in Naples. His Akedat Yitzhak is a philosophical commentary on the Pentateuch.
